The PSIC Launches Licensed Professional Trainer Training for Its Inaugural Season

Details have now been released on how to get involved as a Licensed Professional Trainer (LPT) with the Professional Ski Instructors of Canada (PSIC)!

What?

PSIC Licensed Professional Trainer (LPT) training will take place this fall and is an introduction to the PSIC teaching approach. LPT training is the first step to being a Trainer with the PSIC and participation in this annual training will be required to be contracted to deliver PSIC programs. The PSIC does not require exclusivity from its Licensed Professional Trainers.

The program will include:

  • Two days on snow

  • One indoor session at the end of Day 1

Who?

PSIC Licensed Professional Trainer (LPT) training is open to anyone who has course conductor status in any other organization, domestic or international (e.g. CSIA Level 1-4 Course Conductor, PSIA Educator 1-4, APSI Level 1-4, BASI Level 1- 4, etc.) and is a member of the PSIC. In addition, any newly certified Level 3 or Level 4 equivalent interested in becoming a PSIC LPT is also eligible to begin their LPT training in our inaugural year and this is the first step in that pathway.

All PSIC Licensed Professional Trainers attend the same training regardless of level, and our goal is to have all LPTs in the same uniform.

The PSIC's LPT training will be delivered by notable Snow School Directors and experienced course conductors, including past Canadian Interski team coaches and team members.

Cost?

The PSIC values and respects the ski professional and the integral part that the LPT plays in expert delivery of training programs and professional development for all members of the PSIC. As such, the PSIC is investing in LPT Training and providing it at zero cost to qualifying members who register.

The training is being made available at no cost, but we recognize the investment required by both us, the PSIC, and you, the Trainer.

Trainer investment is your time, commitment to professional growth, the pursuit of lifelong learning, and alignment with PSIC values.  LPT Training will be an opportunity for you to engage with our system, concepts and values.

Our commitment to Trainers is a progressive industry-aligned approach, zero ceiling education pathway, the creation of the Ski Pro Institute, sophisticated digital learning tools, and the opportunity to be a part of a culture built on respect, curiosity and achievement.
